Leblon

Leblon

Neighborhood Description

Leblon is the most affluent and exclusive neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, being the home of very rich and famous people. The neighborhood is located in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro, between Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Morro Dois Irmãos and the Jardim de Alá canal, bordered by the hip and trendy neighbourhood Ipanema.

From Leblon you can easily walk to Ipanema on the beach sidewalk and you are a quick bike ride away from  Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, where you have a marvellous view of the lagoon itself and of the mountains surrounding the city.  Leblon is known for being a very cosmopolitan neighbourhood, with a lively nightlife across its fancy bars, posh restaurants and up-until-dawn nightclubs. The beach in Leblon, while quieter and not as popular as Ipanema beach, offers the same view and a variety of sportive activities for health conscience residents, including yoga classes, tai chi, running groups and of course beach volleyball and foot volley. Famous for its safety, designer boutiques, great night-life, relaxing beach and its celebrity filled sidewalks, Leblon is a very special Carioca experience.

  • Shopping Leblon

    Shopping Leblon

Located in the charming South Zone, Shopping Leblon is Rio´s most distinctive shopping destination with 200 of the finest retail stores including Chanel, Ferragamo, Ermenegildo Zegna, HStern, Emporio Armani , MAC Cosmetics, Juicy Couture, Rimowa, Carlos Miele and others.

The slickest, sleekest of the Zona Sul malls, Shopping Leblon is not the place to go bargain hunting. It does, however, play host to all the great carioca labels like Reserva, Redley and Auslander and international brands from Lacoste to Calvin Klein. Moreover, the Livraria da Travessa bookshop is one of the biggest around with its own café, and there are plenty of comfortable sofas and armchairs to take a load of and make use of the mall’s wi-fi. The top floor has a big selection of mostly fast-food restaurants (Rascáls not withstanding), and the four-screen cinema means you can round of a day of splurging with a blockbuster.
